Eggplant 100 Audio is owned and operated by Steve Meyer, former employee of Frank Productions and Technical Manager of the iconic Majestic Theatre in downtown Madison. An experienced live sound engineer and lifelong musician, Steve began playing drums at the age of 5 while his interest in audio and gear became evident very early in his childhood. He acquired his first real PA from a local DJ when he was 12 years old and subsequently taught himself how to run live sound by providing the PA for his own band’s shows, DJ-ing his middle school dances, and running sound for local metal shows that he would book and promote throughout his high school years. After playing in a number of different bands in his teens and early 20s, he eventually became an international touring musician while also diving deeper into his freelance audio business. After touring for a number of years with his bands The Fine Constant, Pangaea, and Sarah Longfield, Steve’s career eventually shifted into doing live production full time. Steve began working for Frank Productions, where he was quickly promoted to Technical Manager of the Majestic Theatre while also continuing to work across all other Madison based FPC Live venues including The Sylvee, The Orpheum, and High Noon Saloon. He currently serves as an audio engineer for Madison venues Crucible and Gamma Ray Bar while continuing to operate Eggplant 100 Audio.
